When my mother was diagnosed with dementia ten years ago, we knew one day we'd have to look at residential care for her. Her health deteriorated quickly, and we soon found ourselves having to make decisions on her behalf. I knew nothing about nursing homes before I had to find one for my mother, so the learning curve was steep. This was a difficult time for the whole family, but I can look back and see there were things we learned along the way that would have been helpful to have known at the beginning of the process of finding a high-quality nursing home and helping my mother settle into her new environment. I started this blog to share my journey and tips with others in a similar position. I hope you find my blog useful.
